Illana Albuquerque is a Brazilian guitarist who began her music studies at the age of 9 years old through the Villa-Lobos music school at Rio de Janeiro.

In 2018, she joined the bachelor’s degree in classical guitar at UNIRIO, where she completed it in 2023. During her bachelor’s degree, she participated in different groups of chamber music as duos with cello, voice and flute.

During her time in Rio, she performed with different repertoires, including focusing on woman’s compositions. In addition, she participated in several masterclasses with renowned guitarists, among them, Fábio Zanon, Tal Hurwitz and Thiago Colombo.

In 2025, Illana started a Master’s degree in classical guitar performance at Hunter College by the guidance of professor João Luiz Rezende. In addition to her professional studies, Ms. Albuquerque has joined the faculty of the EzraGuitar Conservatory based in Brooklyn, NY.
